CATHOLIC CONTENT OFFERING
Our study shows that the demand for unique Catholic content is on the rise and there’s a great opportunity to up-skill content offering in terms of covering Holy Mass and other spiritual sessions at different times and from different regions, respectively. A monthly targeted programming calendar can be offered from the Bangalore region and subsequently enlarged to other regions.
Potential high-value content focus opportunities are coverage of:
- Diocesan Catholic Events
- Conferences, Seminars
- Institutional coverage
- Catholic Current Affairs
- Retreats Centre coverage
- Feast Day celebration coverage
The above strategy would demand a very high level of close networking with Archdiocesan, Diocesan, and parish-level priests, and religious institutions such as seminaries, schools, colleges, etc.
Convincing them of our offer to cover not only Masses but also other events mentioned above to garner more viewership. Potential coverage areas:
Youth programs, Catholic empowerment programs, Interviews with Catholic personalities, Reach-out programs, mega rallies,
Choir or singing groups, Catholic education institutional events only (on invitation), Rosaries, Way of the Cross, Testimonies, Messages, Night Vigil, Adoration, Saints Life or Commentaries, etc.
Reaching out to Religious Life, Convents, Ashrams, Monasteries, and Seminaries, (highlighting their life and service)
The above strategy can only be achieved by Editorial run operations rather than just relaying Mass-type coverage.
Secondly, the above coverage would help Deva Media Centre (Deva TV BLR) to take a quantum jump against its Competitors such as Madha TV, Velankanni Shrine TV, Divine, Shalom, etc which are church-run networks.
Our advantage would be that we are a journalistically editorial-run network. Hence, we would have a greater advantage over the others.
Importantly, this would greatly help in ramping up Catholics-run TV both broadcast & Social Media, a subscription base that forms a critical part of the life of a broadcast organization.
Thirdly, the above strategy would greatly help in generating a rich and critical database for achieving targeted advertising revenue.
What is more important is networking and building relationships with the clergy. Request for announcements to be made towards the end of the Mass service.
Help get permission to set up Promotion kiosks (booths) within the church campus for promotion, marketing, subscription, etc.
The above-mentioned areas of work demand a high-level of networking with the clergy and diocesan circles.
The Program Coordinator & Creative Head has come with nearly 27 years of Television, Editorial, Journalism, and Teaching experience by anchoring several mainstream media, print, and broadcast industry segments.
I believe, with a little bit of investment in Editorial teams, training, resources, and infrastructure, We are confident that can emerge as a leading resource for Catholic content.
Broadcast organizations must continually test innovative and unique offerings to attract new subscribers. Hence, subscriptions are the lifeline of any broadcast and this is where consumers need to be actively converted to pay for subscriptions. We can work out a mutually beneficial revenue-sharing subscription model and aim to ramp up subscriptions in a quick time.
